Where in the Copper Country Wednesday – #6

Posted by Tricia July 23, 2008

dcclark came the closest with last week’s picture. It is indeed the Bammert Blacksmith Shop in Phoenix (for more information on this series, please see the beginning of this post).

This week’s picture is definitely taken in the Copper Country – although it has a “big city” feel to it.

Wednesday #6

Where in the Copper Country is this picture taken?

I want to say it’s that big bank in Hancock that would be on your left if heading towards the lift bridge from M-203.

That thar be the D&N, um, Republic, no… Citizens’ bank building in downtown Hancock.

In other news, one of the best features of Wells Fargo is how it doesn’t change its name every 4 years. :P

dcclark – you must not have been up here when Wells Fargo was MFC First National Bank LOL. That was more than four years ago. Probably almost 10.

But you are right. D&N-Republic-Citizens…it makes your head spin how many times it has changed!

Good reminder, Tricia — I do remember that. But I think I was impressed that the huge giant bank (MFC First National) took the name of the relatively small one (Wells Fargo). I guess their reputation was better!

Congrats Jay! You got it. dcclark gets some bonus points too because you were able to give many of the names the building has had over the years LOL.

At some point, I hope to be able to offer some little “bonus” for guessing correctly with the Wednesday posts ;-)
