Where in the Copper Country Wednesday - #9

Posted by Tricia August 20, 2008

Another Wednesday and another picture for you to guess where it was taken. dcclark knew last week’s location. It was indeed the north entry as seen from McLain State Park (for more information on this series, please see the beginning of this post).

Here’s this week’s picture…

Where in the Copper Country is this picture taken?

I believe it’s the cog rail tram track at the Quincy Mine right by the loading platform at the top of the hill.

My logic is there’s no operational trains in the Keweenaw and that’s a very well maintained looking tressle.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t at Quincy, mainly because I can’t remember it being there. However, I don’t have much of a better idea. I’m going to guess it’s that one park between M-26 and Torch Lake in Lake Linden — mainly because I seem to remember a small train running around there.

…want to know? LOL

dcclark got it. This is part of the track at the Houghton County Museum. There is one operational train in the Keweenaw ;)

That was really a guess — based on negative information: I know where it wasn’t!
