I have been having a few technical difficulties on here, so I apologize for the lack of posts. Things should be fine now, but if you notice anything funny – feel free to let me know.

Today I thought I would highlight a guest photographer. He likes to photograph things from a low angle (and I did the digital manipulation).

Here’s a few shots of one the locomotives at Quincy Mine:

He also likes to take pictures of “pretty” things:

These pics were taken by our son. I decided that I would let him take our camera and have some fun with it this weekend. He soaked in all of my instruction and started snapping away. This isn’t the first time a photo of his has appeared on here. He contributed a “Where in the Copper Country” shot with the Osceola #13.

As time goes on, he’ll probably be contributing more pictures :-)

While in the Rockland area, I caught up to a little bumblebee who was hopping flower to flower gathering pollen. It stayed maybe only one second at each flower, which made photographing it very difficult. I could never seem to predict the next flower it was going to fly to. It surprised me that it didn’t seem bothered one bit by my presence.

Out of about 15 photos taken, there was only one pic where I could see a good portion of it’s body and head (although most of it is still in the flower).

We have a few bumblebees that hang around our house every summer. I’m pretty sure they have a hideout in our crawl space. I think that they are a lot like this bee – they just want to do their thing. They’ve never bothered us, so we’ll probably let them be.
